REVIEW: Elixir by Ted Galdi

Read from June 17 to 18, 2014

*I got this book free from author to rate/review*

Elixir is Ted Galdi's first novel and now me after reading it, I can't wait to see what he will come up with next. This book is beyond good. I loved it!

This book was really something!

I divided this book in three parts and I will review it like that. (I will not do whole recap of the book, I will just say some important [but not all] things that happened, but those are just some little parts, you should read this amazing book for more!) :)
Let's start:

First Part - Start of the book is mostly everything to me, if it starts good, I'm in for a ride, if not, it gets hard to get drown in the story. But I liked whole introduction to Sean, smart 14-year old kid with IQ 250, loved his Aunt, his friend Kyle, then Professor Steven. Problem starts when he resolves something no one on earth ever could and then some things happens... he gets himself in danger and needs to fake his death (and his Aunt too), and they get help from one really good man Peter. Many things happen in this first part of the book. Be prepared!

Second Part - This was my least favorite part, I mean only couple of pages of 'Four years later' part (after faking his death). His name is now James (but I will use Sean forward), and he have 18 years now. I really didn't like seeing him I don't know, doing graffiti, drinking... it was kinda boring, one other part I wanted to see, what's happening with Aunt Mary, we find out later. Also, here he meets a girl, Natasha, how they meet, I will not tell. One more thing, he have friend here, new one, Fabrizio, they do graffiti together. ^_^ That should be it, this was just that new start in Italy, and I kinda lost it, because all those 4 years before Italy, it was just like nothing, and I didn't like that, I wanted to know what happened in those four years, but later I totally forgot about this little part and when we get to know most of the things now about Italy, Aunt Mary and his new identity, what they are doing and all, it gets better!

Third Part (I was blown away!) - This is the BIG part of this book, when Natasha gets sick and he makes a formula to cure her (he found most of the formula from the site of one big Facility that do those things, he hacked from their site. They made some mistakes, but he resolved everything after some hours of thinking.), now he needs to make a cure, then problems start, when he gets back in US, then he and Steven looks for chemical things for cure and everything after that is just WOW, getting kidnapped (and whose work is that, come on, guess? :P), everything that happens on that little trip... I was just like reading and reading and I couldn't stop. End was really good and I like how this book ended. At one moment, I really though it wouldn't end well, but it's good that it ended with how I should say "Happily Ever After" for Sean and Natasha.

My favorite quote from this book:
"I think if we have something inside of us that's... put there by nature for a reason. We shouldn't repress it. We should listen to what it's saying and not care too much about the consequences."

Almost forget, while reading this book, I got all this thinking and imagining about how cool movie would look based on this book, I really hope it happens one day, I totally would go and watch it.

RECOMMENDATION: Everyone who likes good mystery/thriller book, should give this book a try, and even if you don't read books of this type, let this one be a first for you. I know book is not yet released, but when it hits stores, run to the nearest one and get this thrillingly-good book!

I want to say Thank you to Tom for giving me free e-book and you did a great job with your firstborn (LOL), keep up! I really can't wait to read more books from you! :)

REVIEW: The Boys of Summer (Summer #1) by C.J. Duggan.

Read from July 17 to 19, 2014

This is my first book that I'm reading from an Australian author (or maybe not? I think it is), anyway C.J. Duggan is one really good writer, I would lie if I tell that I didn't like this book, this is one really perfect book for summer, with romance, fun and all other summer things, I loved it! I'm coming back for more! <3

                                                                 STORY

Boy, oh Boy. First thing that I loved about this book is that everything went slow, I hate when I start reading romance book and two MC's after 'chapter 2' start kissing or telling "I love you", I mean "COME ON? it's too fast."
Getting to know Tess and her ex-douchebag boyfriend and his jerk friend and what they done to her in school... I was mad at those boys, bullying and everything. But you know I liked this girl from the start, and her two friends Adam and Ellie. Many things happen after summer comes and school's out. Three friends planned to work at Onslow hotel, but 'something' happens to Adam and he got grounded and sent in city to granny, that got Tess pretty worried because she wanted to work with both of them. Real fun begins when Tess and Ellie 'meet' the Onslow Boys, especially when Tess dream boy come true and all of a sudden she is talking with her crush from years ago and with his friends. They really have so much fun. It was so interesting. The Onslow boys are awesome, I love you Stan, Sean, Ringer, Toby and we could add grumpy Chris there too. I like that you know, nothing happened between Tess and Toby while he still had his bitchy girlfriend Angela, and I liked that kiss happened close to the end and then some more drama. I mostly like this book because it wasn't all 'DRAMA' written on it, because I kinda hate books with too much drama. This book just got everything right and everything was as I like, it was funny read, full of romance, partying, working, spending summer with friends, enjoying free time, getting here and there heart broken, fight with friend... ahh and so on. BEST SUMMER EVER!

                                                           CHARACTERS

My favorite part, this book really had some good characters. Let's start with Tess, I mean GIRL, she was totally different person after summer ended, damn girl, and of course in a good way. Before she met Onslow boys, she was a shadow, shy person, wearing things 'to not be recognized', bullied by her jerk of ex-boyfriend, but after she met boys, she totally started to be herself, work in the hotel, then later with her parents too, still she was at the start a bit shy, but she started to like her new friends, started to wear what she likes and she started to 'melt down' and be someone, because she isn't no one (Thanks mostly to Toby that helped her to see that), she is one pretty great person and she was one pretty good character. I loved this character, and this is a surprise, because mostly I hate a little MC's, but she, I couldn't hate this girl. Then there's, Adam, LOL-ing all around, this guy is SO FUNNY, I like when author adds some fun in romance books, and he totally made me laugh, so hard (Heads up: He goes to city to 'visit' granny but he comes back XD). Ellie I didn't like so much at the start, not a fan of her, and I have hate/love relationship with this character, But, you know me, at the end, I liked her too. Stars of this book, The Onslow boys, they just made my summer even hotter. Toby was really really good and I loved moments with him and Tess and I liked this guy, he was decent, good, sexy (they all are XD), funny... ahh Toby. Then, Sean, ok one of my favorites, this guy is good with making jokes and talkative and again good, all boys are good. Ringer, ok, we didn't got so much of Ringer and I kinda hated that, he have a girlfriend Amanda, but I expected more of him, maybe in next books. At the end, ohh Stan, another good guy who starts going out and making out with Ellie and of course he is good too. No, no, I totally forgot Chris, this grumpy boy, at the start he was all 'closed-up' and boss-y, but later we get to know him a bit, he is not all that, he's good too, but again I want to know more. LOL Also, there's Uncle Eric, Amy, Claire, Rosanna... and on.

I think characters of this book is what made this book this good to me, I totally loved every each of them (ok expect bitchy Angela, her friends, Scott (Tess's ex) and his friends) and even those that I hated made this story and book what it is. A good summer read, romance book. You'll have so much fun with this book guys, maybe you will not love it like I did, but you can't hate it, it's just that you simply can't hate Onslow boys. :P

RECOMMENDATION: If you are looking for nice summer read, one romance book, with funny moments, good characters, good story, then you found it, you found everything in this book. Check it out, it's really GOOOOOOOOOOD. (:

REVIEW: Four: A Divergent Story Collection (Divergent, #0.1-0.4) by Veronica Roth

Read from July 25 to 28, 2014

This is a MUST-READ for anyone who loves Four !

I really love Four and those four short stories were really good, at least for me. My favorite was the last one "The Traitor", but all four were good, really. Now, after I finished with this book... ahh... I want more Four... I would love one whole book about him, I would love more of Four POV after he met Tris, I mean whole first and second Divergent book from Four's POV. I just want MORE FOUR! *desperate out here*

Anyway, this is hardly going to happen, but who knows, maybe one sunny day?
Now, after reading this last story in this book, all is getting back, Tris and Four... everything... end of Allegiant... ahh :(

One more thing, LOVE the cover of this book (Ferris Wheel <3 <3 <3), and all four covers for short stories, they are beautiful.

Who can't love this guy? hmmm

REVIEW: Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James.

5 stars
Read from March 11 to 14, 2014

"Sexy ... Provocative ... Romantic ... and everything that you want from an adult book of this kind.

I was in from very start, and I was really into this book till the very end. Just so you all know, book ends with one cliffhanger and if you loved this book, you will want to start with next book, right after you end with this one. At first when I added this book in my to-read list, I wasn't sure about this book, but after I read it, it was really GOOD, SO GOOD!

Everyone who enjoys/loves those kind of books, should start reading this book, if you still didn't. Also, to people who don't like kind of books like this one, give it a try, it's really good. It really is!"

This was my review after reading Fifty Shades, but now I wouldn't agree completely. So I give it 4 stars, not 5.

Yes, I agree that book is sexy and really REALLY provocative and it's romantic, but not kind of sweet romance most people think, this is sick romance. I liked this book a lot, and now when I think about it, I think I like it still, but I don't know about reading again, maybe if I read it again I will not like it, because I can't say that I think the same, as I was in early 2014 when I read this book or maybe I would.
Book have SO much sex, really... so much, maybe that's why I liked it. LOL Christian is one sick son-of-a-bitch, I really don't remember much but I liked what I've read about him, not sex, just what he was wearing and this whole mystery  man... but I can't lie, sex was harsh, damn Christian. Anastasia was little lamb that got served on plate to lion. Lol
I think Anna was a total bitch and I think end of this book is pretty stupid, but start of book two is even stupider, so that's why I stopped reading this series.
No, I don't agree with starting book 2 at all (because I did), don't waste your precious time.
BIG NO, not everyone should read this book, just adults!

Movie
I decided last summer to not watch movie, because for real, it's gonna be all about sex, and really, if I want to go watch sex, we all know where we can find it. It's just wrong to make movies like that, reading is something else, you read it, you live it and just you have that picture in your mind... movie rarely lives up to the book, but in this case... movie is just unacceptable for me. Movie about sex and just sex in cinemas is just plain stupid. But I see tickets are being sold... so people for a few years expect porn to be shown in cinemas! LOL hahaha

How do you feel about this book and movie?

New episode tonight and tomorrow!

My Heart Twinkle Twinkle / My Heart is Twinkling
Episodes to be shown in Korea: 7 (Saturday) and 8 (Sunday)
Channel: SBS

Truthfully I didn't like this one at the start. Slow start, really and I was bored, but end of episode 2 made me come back for more and in episode 3 and 4, I still wasn't blown away, it was mediocre, but really nothing to be excited for, I really wanted to give up, but I didn't because I love lead male actor, I just love him and it's really good that I didn't because, episode 5 and 6 were SO good, really had fun watching those 2 episodes and they were so much better than last few. Can't wait to see how ep. 7 and 8 will come out to be, let's hope amazing.

Also tonight new episode:
Heart to Heart
Episode to be shown in Korea: 10 (9 was shown yesterday)
Channel: tvN

This one is super funny. I love main girl, I love Doctor and Detective, but the most of all, I love that this show makes me laugh and it's super romantice and while Doctor is total jerk, I still love him. Detective is super good and cute and main girl I like. Last episode ended pretty (ugh), waiting until tonight episode get broadcated in Korea then in the next few days I'll see both episodes.

Plus, I am super excited for Monday & Tuesday!

Why?

That's why.
Healer is ending!
Sad it's ending, gonna miss lead actors and everything, but again can't wait to see how it all ends!

I don't like to be sick! (But really... who does?)

I was (it's not 'am' because I feel so much better now. Thank you Doctor!) sick earlier this week and again, Thank you Doctor, if it wasn't for you, who the heck knows what would happen to me.

Let's start this story...
It was Sunday, I wanted now to tell one beautiful day, but nope, I would lie if I say that, it was one cold day, but pretty ok, and I got up, done all morning activities (ahem), ate, read book (a lot), then all of a sudden my throat started to hurt, I though: "ahh this is nothing, it will pass, just a cup of tea will be enough.". But no, that was just a start.
Sunday night was struggle, I didn't sleep much, I was all night-long up with two potatoes on my hand (really good for temperature) and wet socks with alcohol. Thankfully temperature got down and I got better and slept for couple of hours. But next day wasn't any better, my head was hurting and my eyes, Oh my... let's not go there, I didn't go to doctor yet.

Now, let's take a break for a short story of me and doctors:
You don't know me, so you don't know this, I really don't like doctors, or to go to hospital, I hate that smell. (uff) And I guess it's genetical, because really my family don't like doctors too much too. (LoL) I know that's wrong or something, but really me and doctors, we don't get along. Only when things go really south I go to doctor and then I am like a baby there... I listen to everything, and just nod with my head and say "yes" and "more yes" and "i will" and "i will visit more doctor". (this last is a lie I tell if they ask, I use this lie for some more things (not related to doctors), it's easy to get out from some talk if you just say that, better than "I will not" and then you need to explain why.) That's with doctors. ME NO LIKE

Getting back to story...
Tuesday night I slept good, I woke up for couple of times and I didn't expect to wake up next morning and feel like this... I don't know how to subscribe it... I was feeling like total crap, like I never slept and I hardly could move, my legs hurt, my back hurt, my head was a little better, but still and I was so thirsty, I somehow woke up... you won't believe but I had 40.6 C temperature that morning, I even didn't feel so hot... really, that day I went to hospital with my dad and doctor was one really nice lady and she gave me some pills and also I got infusion... needed to lay there for 20 minutes while a needle was in my vein, but it really wasn't scary. (shocking for me, because I hate needles... maybe it's because I didn't see it? or I am pretending that I hate needles?)

I started to feel a little better after that infusion and after I got from hospital, it just got better, but my appetite was still pretty bad, now I feel much better, still my appetite is not perfect, but I eat more than I was couple of days ago. Thanks again and again Doctor.

I hate being sick. Do you?

That's all for now, be back soon!

Welcome friends and enemys to my blog!

Ola ... Namaste ... Zdravo ... Hello

My name is Miodrag, but please everyone, call me Mio. (I like it more)
I come from one small country Serbia (probably no one knows where that is, or like most people think, it's Syria, but nope, it's S-e-r-b-i-a. ok.. whatever), I have 19 years, I love to laugh (and make people laugh), I like to read books, watch series and movies and lie my butt off. hah

This is the first time for me to make a blog, I really don't know how much I'll be active here, but when I am, I'll try to post things related to books I read, series I am watching currently and movies I've seen and also other totally unusual things, so if you are not up for me and my unusual things, get the hell out of here, RIGHT NOW!

No, you didn't go right? nooo, that was a joke. Lol Everyone is welcome, like I said, friends and enemys.
I don't know really a thing about blogs, so this will be messy, but bear with me, don't run.

I also review books on Goodreads, and Dear God.. those reviews are awful (listen when I tell you), but I'll post some of my better here and then you can judge and spit on those and post evil comments. (muahaha)

I absolutely hate football, so if you want to get on my nerves, post something football related and you'll get on my nerves, I currently love Kdramas, so you'll see many posts (I'm guessing) about Kdramas, be prepared for blog full of HOT Korean men, if you are not up for it... I don't know what to say? maybe... get the hell out of here? hihihi

American series: "Now you just somebody that I used to know... somebody... I used to know... somebody..." This should be a line or whatever (opss I forget to tell, my English kinda sucks XD) from song from Gotye, I am sure it's not right, so be warned. I used to watch really too much American series, but now I am all over Korea and their dramas, so America, adio for now. All shows are on stand-by, but I still watch Heartland.. oh wait... yes... Heartland is a Canadian series.

I am 100% sure that I forget something, but if I did, expect that in my next blog post. Bye for now guys and be good. See ya soon. (don't leave me please... :P <3) xoxo
